About Us

Our story began when Sergio and Victoria were two young adults, Sergio was 22 and Victoria was 19. They met while working at a senior living community, where Victoria was a server and Sergio was a cook. Depending on who tells the story, there may be some disagreement about who “left the crumbs” and who picked them up, but one thing is certain: they liked each other.

Thanks to a mutual friend, they eventually started spending time together outside of work. The first time they hung out was when Victoria invited Sergio over to her house to celebrate their mutual friend’s birthday. They had dinner, watched a movie, and from there, they began spending more time together on their own.

At the time, Victoria volunteered at a cat shelter, and Sergio, being a cat lover, thought it was the perfect excuse to spend more time with her. Victoria did not exactly agree, she would argue that being covered in cat hair and sweat was not her most glamorous look, but Sergio loved the idea anyway.

About a week later, Sergio asked Victoria on a date after work. They went to the dog park with Victoria’s three dogs, whom Sergio already loved, and had a great time together. That was also the day Sergio asked Victoria to officially be his girlfriend, and she happily said yes!

From that point on, they were nearly inseparable, spending time together almost every day. Sergio quickly became close with Victoria’s family, and Victoria became just as close with Sergio’s.

Then, only about three months into their relationship, COVID-19 changed everything. Like so many others, they suddenly found themselves having to stay home and keep their distance from the world and at times, from each other. Still, they found ways to safely spend time together, meeting at outdoor parks away from other people whenever they could.

It was certainly an unusual way to begin a relationship, but somehow, they still managed to make it fun. Through all of it, they continued choosing each other, and they have been together ever since.
